Home | About Us | About The Buzz
About The Buzz

Prince Edward Island's Guide to What's Going On, The Buzz is a monthly magazine about art, photography, music, live bands, ceilidhs, concerts, festivals, theatre, books, poetry, community events, and more.

Deadline

The submission deadline is usually the 15th of month prior to publication. All press releases and public service notices should reach us by this date.

Distribution

It is distributed year-round through approximately 300 pick-up points across The Island in such places as coffee shops, grocery stores, news stands, libraries, restaurants, hotels, motels, night clubs, information centres, convenience stores, retail stores, Holland College and UPEI. The Buzz is distributed Island-wide.

70% to Charlottetown and Queens County;
15% to Summerside and Prince County;
15% to Montague and Kings County.

In the tourist season this number increases as seasonal businesses open. In July and August the number of pick up points reaches 550 or more, including all PEI Provincial Visitor Information Centres and many local tourist information outlets.

In September through June 12,500 to 16,000 copies per month are printed and distributed.

In July and August 25,000 to 26,000 copies are printed and distributed.

There is a low return rate each month from most locations (0% - 2%).

Convention and meeting organizers regularly request copies for delegate packages.

The effectiveness of distribution points is monitored regularly, and adjustments are made to increase the supply to the busiest points. In downtown Charlottetown, distribution points are re-supplied weekly. New locations for distribution are regularly sought out.

PEI RESIDENTS PLEASE NOTE: If you are having difficulty finding a copy of The Buzz, please contact us (902) 628-1958, and we will tell you about a pick-up point near you.
