BunnyBop!
Periscope Pictures to launch pre-schoolers webseries

Emmy and Gemini Award-winning producer Cheryl Wagner—best known for her highly successful pre-school series The Big Comfy Couch—has formed Periscope Pictures, a new production company in Charlottetown with her long-time writing partner Harmony Wagner.

Periscope Pictures is dedicated to bringing original screen-based entertainment to a worldwide audience, telling stories that encourage and brighten the human spirit. And the first project in their sights is BunnyBop!

BunnyBop! is a webseries for pre-schoolers featuring Island kids from 2 to 5 years of age, dressed in bunnysuits, playing in a cheery garden daycare setting. Each five-minute webisode will also include a Bunny Tale starring the bouncy rabbit Buddy Bunny, a loveable puppet pal with a penchant for carrots.

Produced with the participation of InnovationPEI and the Independent Production Fund, BunnyBop! will go into production in October and launch at www.bunnybop.com. on February 3, 2011 as the world celebrates the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit.

“We are declaring it The Year of the Bunny!” exclaimed Cheryl Wagner from her Charlottetown office. “Let the hoppiness begin.”
