The Canadian Federation of University Women Charlottetown Scholarship Trust met recently to determine the amount of money available for scholarships to assist Island women who wish to pursue an undergraduate or post graduate program of studies. The following scholarships will be offered in 2008:

The Frieda Creelman Undergraduate Scholarship is open to a female student who has resided on Prince Edward Island for at least five of the last ten years, who has successfully completed at least one year of university study in the creative arts, and who is continuing full-time study in Music, Fine Arts, Drama, or Creative Writing. This scholarship is valued at $1,500.

Two post graduate scholarships will be awarded, one in Arts and one in Science. The Margaret MacMillan Pratt Graduate Scholarships in Arts and Science ($5,000 each) are open to students who have been accepted into full-time Masters or Doctoral studies in any field in the Arts or Sciences.

Further information about these scholarships and electronic applications may be obtained by contacting m.g.palmer@pei.sympatico.ca. Applications are available from Maryanne Palmer, 30 Oak Drive, Charlottetown, PEI C1A 6T5, and are due by post to the above address on or before October 10, 2008.
