Those dates will serve to promote the US release of her successful album Church Bell Blues May 13. The album will also be released in the UK on May 12. Andy Swan leads the Toronto pop outfit The Michael Parks (formerly Detective Kalita). But even that prolific band couldn’t keep up with Andy’s songwriting output. So, Andy took a brand new batch of songs to Ottawa in late 2006 to record his second album. It turned out to be filled with decidedly country sounds as if it was made decades ago when country met rock. With Rolf Klausener (The Acorn) on bass, John J. Higney Jr. (Two Minute Miracles) on guitar and Jon Bartlett (Rhume) on drums, Andy crafted an album, where his simple, honest lyrics and vulnerable tenor voice get to shine in the spotlight. Other guests included Jim Bryson, Dave Draves, Andrew Vincent, Jake Bryce (Recoilers), and Kyla Dowden (duet singer on the track “Maybe It’s Love”).
Revival Dear was brought to life by the creative spark that ignited when singer/songwriter Eddie Orso first met singer Shelley Hayes. The two immediately formed an artistic bond, and Revival Dear was born. They have found a way to pay homage to the past and herald in the future at the same time. Try to imagine a marriage between classic rock legends The Band and Fleetwood Mac, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of their sound.
Music starts at 11 pm. Admission is at the door.
