  • Doug Riley honoured

The late Doug Riley was recently honoured with the “Jazz Pioneer Award” at the prestigious National Jazz Awards held at the Palais Royale in Toronto last month with an audience of over a thousand in attendance. On hand to accept the posthumous honour were Doug’s wife, Jan, and his two sons, Ben and Jesse. Doug Riley received the Order of Canada in 2004. Doug and Jan Riley moved to PEI in 2005 and Doug was a featured performer at each of the PEI Jazz and Blues Festivals held so far.
