Ballet Jörgen: Anastasia performs on the Mainstage Theatre of the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown on May 2. With only a few shows left, PEI Presents finishes in May leading up to the launch of the 2008 Charlottetown Festival in June.

The mysterious fate of Anastasia, the 17-year-old daughter of Russia’s last czar, Nicholas II has fascinated people for more than 90 years. In its largest undertaking to date, Ballet Jörgen Canada follows Anastasia through the ballrooms of St. Petersburg, the Russian Revolution, her captivity, and beyond. Created by choreographer and Artistic Director Bengt Jörgen, this ballet explores the emotions, aspirations and affections of this controversial character as the world is transformed around her.
