Cavendish Beach Music Festival announces 2012 headliners

Rascal Flatts Rascal Flatts The largest multi-day outdoor music festival in Atlantic Canada returns with Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Dean Brody and more to come. For the fourth year in a row, the Lotto Max Presents Cavendish Beach Music Festival will bring world-class country music entertainment to the region’s popular festival vacation destination. Fans will be firing up their “Summer Nights” with one of the most honoured bands in country music history—Rascal Flatts. Also sweetening up the stages are multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM award-winner Sugarland; and the return to Cavendish of Dean Brody with his 2011 CCMA multiple award winner Trail In Life. More country music royalty will be announced in the New Year.

Festival President Jeff Squires says the three-day festival allows organizers to provide the best in world-class entertainment at a very affordable price, continuing what’s become a benchmark summer event for concertgoers. “We’ve had some incredible talent in the past three years—Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, and Reba McEntire, just to mention a few. This year’s festival continues our focus on getting some of the biggest award winning names in country music, starting with today’s announcement of Sugarland, Rascal Flatts and Dean Brody.” Squires adds that it’s the fans themselves who help choose the entertainment. “We’ve kept a close eye on the LOTTO MAX presents Cavendish Beach Music Festival online community, and people have overwhelmingly been posting that they’d like to see these headliners on the Cavendish stage.”

Atlantic Lottery returns as Presenting Sponsor. “Last year, Lotto Max brought a little energy and excitement—not to mention a new fashion trend with our flashing Lotto Max glasses—to the Cavendish Beach Music Festival,” says Tom Mullally, Managing Director of Atlantic Lottery’s Red Shores. “We’re thrilled to be back as Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Festival and being part of an event that has earned Prince Edward Island bragging rights as a country music destination.”

Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Henderson welcomed the festival announcement. “The government of Prince Edward Island is pleased to support events such as the Cavendish Beach Music Festival that benefit our province’s economy and tourism industry. This festival is a great example of how industry and government can work together to showcase our province and attract visitors to Prince Edward Island.”

Adjacent to the Festival grounds in the coastal community of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island are acres of camping areas, facilities, and magnificent beaches and surroundings.
