Copper Bottom Brewing
Multi-JUNO award winning songwriter David Francey has taken a break from live performances and will be showcasing his art at venues throughout Canada. He will make a stop at Copper Bottom Brewing, 567 Main Street in Montague, April 21 and 22.
In June 2017, Francey was advised by a vocal specialist to withdraw from touring or risk causing permanent damage to his voice. While recuperating, Francey turned to his other passion — painting.
Francey, who is also a big advocate for mental health, has offered to auction off one of his art pieces at Copper Bottom, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Francey's art will be revealed at 6 pm on Saturday, April 21 at which time the showcase will open for public viewing. At 7 pm Francey will speak briefly about his experience with mental health, followed by a collection of local musicians performing covers of his songs. Silent auction bidding will end at 9 pm.
On Sunday, April 22, the showcase continues from 2–6 pm during Copper Bottom's weekly Sunday Series: Tunes on Tap event. Francey will be on site to chat about his passion for paintng and his career as a folk poet and singer.
This event is free and open to the public.
