The Island Folk Festival
Cloggeroo — the Island Folk Festival — is back this summer for its five year anniversary. The Island Folk Festival will be held once again in the Eastern PEI town of Georgetown on the weekend of August 10–12. Acts helping to celebrate the five year anniversary will include Grand Theft Bus, Rose Cousins, Monkey Junk, The Mellotones, Slowcoaster, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures, Hot Toddy Trio, Vishtèn, Theresa Malenfant & the Instigators, Amanda Jackson Band, CALM BARETTA, The Hypochondriacs, The Rubber Boot Band, The Koconut Kings, Willie Stratton, Chas Guay & Nick Gauthier, Mike Dixon, and Sarah Hagen.
Cloggeroo’s main stage on the Georgetown waterfront is sheltered with a big top festival tent, keeping the music alive rain or shine, while still maintaining the view of the Brudenell River. The festival also features an annual free concert on the beach, an annual fireworks show, food vendors, a full bar, festival camping, children’s activities, free shuttles around town, and much more.
“It’s just such a great place to enjoy music and have a perfect summer weekend” says organizer Danielle Rochon. “The free show on the beach is always a hit, and for anyone who loves a good dance party, the late night shows at the main stage are the place to be!”
The stage schedule kicks off at 8 pm Friday evening, and runs until 1 am both Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday afternoon features a full lineup of daytime music and Sunday’s lineup is being billed as “an Island Afternoon” with over four hours of PEI musical acts.
Early bird weekend passes available for a limited time.
