With Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines
Harmony House Theatre
Christmas gives us permission to enjoy everything, all at the same time. Shopping malls and mangers, Santas and saviours, the loudest rackets and the most silent of nights.
In “The Island Christmas Review,” Mark Haines and Patrick Ledwell explore the many joys of the season and try to parcel them up in one variety show. Join them December 5 through 8 at Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River, for a high-spirited sleigh ride packed high with Christmas songs and stories.
Haines and Ledwell enjoy creating shows that mix homegrown original comedy, and songs that move feet and heartstrings.
Writing about “The Island Summer Review” in summer 2018, The Buzz reviewer Sean McQuaid writes that “the Haines-Ledwell duo puts on a really great show: clever, funny, energetic, even surprisingly moving in spots, and packed with laugh-out-loud comedy on topics local, regional and universal.”
The duo are looking forward to bringing this energy to the holiday-themed review, full of recollections, melodies, and Christmas mishaps.
“I am just hopping with Yuletide anticipation,” says Mark Haines. “I will be tuning the festive fiddle for some great Christmas classics. Bring your best singing voices.”
Patrick Ledwell will perform comic routines that explore a range of helpful seasonal topics, such as how to finish your Christmas shopping on Kijiji or sing carols when you don’t actually remember the words.
