Mi’kmaq Quill Art
Mi’kmaq Quill Art artist Cheryl Simon was the recent recipient of two prestigious awards in the craft sector. She won “Best Booth” at the PEI Crafts, Art and Giftware Buyers’ Market in January, and then went on to win “Best New Product” at the Atlantic Craft Trade Show in February. Cheryl was a first time participant at both these shows but she excelled in both the quality of her product design and the professionalism of her display booth. Recently in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Malpeque Fine Iron Products was presented the award for Outstanding Exporter at the Atlantic Craft Trade Show Awards for Excellence reception. Malpeque Fine Iron Products has been in business for 17 years and is a leading manufacturer in metal fabrication and ornamental iron products for the wholesale and retail marketplace across Canada and the United States. Inferno by Canoe Cove
“Best New Product” at the PEI Crafts, Art and Giftware Buyers’ Market in January was awarded to Canoe Cove Studio for new designs in its INFERNO fused glass line. Christopher Jette founded the company in 1992. Canoe Cove Studio is located at Harrington House in Rice Point. Shelley Beckett is the manager of Canoe Cove Studio sales, production, product design and development.
