Lyndsay Paynter painting inspired by ideas of sustainabilty

Artist Lyndsey Paynter poses with her painting, “Departure.” A painting by local artist Lyndsey Paynter was unveiled at City Hall recently. The painting was created during an Inspired City Meet and Speak event where the public was asked to contribute to Charlottetown’s future sustainability plan. Participants engaged in roundtable discussions on the progress made so far in the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan and what the priorities should be for the next five years of the plan.

Paynter said she used the energy in the room during the Meet and Speak event as inspiration. The result is a piece based on “breaking out of line and forging new paths.” The acrylic on canvas is titled “Departure” and it now hangs in the second floor lobby of City Hall, 199 Queen Street.
