Number 7 on August 26

(photo: Patrick Callbeck)Art in the Open presents its annual procession of avian omnivores for the seventh year in a row—The March of the Crows. This community-driven anchor of AITO’s main event will take place in Charlottetown on August 26, leaving from the Schurman Family Studio (Confederation Centre) at 7:45 pm and arriving at the Victoria Park battery at 8:15 pm. Community members of all ages are encouraged to join in their most imaginative crow costumes.

This year there will be two Crow Costume Workshops held before the main event to help you express your creativity. The first workshop is the classic Crow Costume Workshop—with black feathers and all—and will be held on August 16. The second workshop, The Rainbow Crow Workshop held in partnership with Pride PEI, is back after last year’s success, taking place on August 24. Both workshops will be hosted at the Schurman Family Studio at the Confederation Centre of the Arts from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Birds of a feather flock together, so bring your loved ones and help us make this the biggest March of the Crows yet. All are welcome. For information or to volunteer with the festival, visit or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
