Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown will feature the artwork of Marianne Janowicz on its Art Wall.
The artist says, “I am a landscape painter. I never thought 40 years ago that I would still be portraying the contours of the land, the colors of the sea, the shape of trees and their shadows on the fields. I started as an abstract painter in the 50s and 60s with the greats of the New York school as my idols. But by the late 60s I was consumed by the drama and beauty of the natural world.
“So here I am today—a landscape painter, hoping that my work encourages others to appreciate and respect our natural environment.”
