Holland College grad Aidan Searle is regional winner
The BMO 1st Art! competition celebrates the creativity of art school students from over 100 post-secondary institutions across Canada. The national winner is awarded $15,000 and the regional winners each receive $7,500. All winning entries for 2017 will presented at the BMO 1st Art! exhibition, Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, University of Toronto, November 16 to December 18.
Representing the best of Canada’s next generation of artists, the national winner and 12 regional winners were selected from 303 entries submitted from communities across the country, the highest number of submissions to date. The winning pieces can be viewed on BMO Financial Group’s website at 1start.bmo.com/2017-winners.html.
Holland College graduate, Aidan Searle, is this year’s regional winner for the province of PEI for his submission, A Year In Review, a digital print depicting his financial, cognitive, and social triumphs and struggles during a year of life.
