Sixty Days of Fame for Vivian Aho at MacNaught Centre
MacNaught History Centre and Archives opens New Sixty Days of Fame Exhibit
A Few Favourite Things is the title Summerside artist Vivian Aho has given her new exhibition showing at the MacNaught History Centre and Archives, 75 Spring Street, Summerside. The exhibit, which will run throughout February and March, is part of Culture Summerside’s ongoing Sixty Days of Fame series, which highlights the works of Summerside and area artists.
Aho says her work comes from her experiences as well as her imagination. She likes her images to tell or hint at a story. For the MacNaught exhibit she has categorized a few favourite things into various themes that influence her life. The category, Friends and Family is perhaps a given, but also included are wildflowers and scenes of the Summerside Boardwalk, one of the best things for Aho about living in Summerside, and Island scenes not already captured by other artists.
Aho also explored her interest in history through the category Historical Topics.
The exhibit opens on February 2. Aho will hold a Meet the Artist Night February 6 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The exhibit can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
