The PEI Humane Society (PEIHS) has eliminated mandatory fees for surrendering an owned pet. The fees will now be voluntary.

Owners can call the shelter at 902-892-1190 ext 21 to make an appointment to surrender at the shelter located at 309 Sherwood Rd, Charlottetown during regular business hours.

Owners in or west of Summerside may surrender their pet at the PEIHS mobile intake day at the Ralph Maclellan Sports Centre parking lot, Richmond, at 10 am every fourth Wednesday of the month. Owners must make an appointment first by calling the shelter.

If low income pet owners need financial help with spaying or neutering, organizations like SpayAid PEI may be able to help (www.spayaidpei.com). Owners who need to rehome a pet due to health or behaviour issues should speak to a veterinarian first.
