This October, the Learning Disabilities Association of PEI (LDAPEI) will be marking Learning Disabilities Awareness Month.
A Learning Disability is a disorder that affects how someone understands and uses information. It can impact their ability to learn, speech and language development, and coordination.
October is dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding learning disabilities and helping those with a disability to reach their full potential.
Learning disabilities are a lifelong condition. There are learning strategies and adjustments you can make to make the disability a less pressing problem, but it will remain. Some of these are taught in LDAPEI’s one on one tutoring sessions (find out more information at ldapei.ca).
