Patient Monitoring Solutions

A new company focused on providing remote patient monitoring solutions is opening a service centre in the e-Health Centre of Excellence at the Holman Building in downtown Summerside. MDDx stands for Medical Devices and Diagnostics. The company plans to create 20 jobs within two years. MDDx The Province is investing a $100,000 strategic infrastructure rebate for the purchase of equipment and technical infrastructure.

Safer Buses

The provincial government is taking steps to enhance school bus safety. Effective Sept 1 regular school buses must be replaced every 11 years and that spare buses must be replaced every 13 years. The Government is able to implement the new regulations after purchasing 60 new school buses in 2008-2009 and 40 new buses in 2009-2010 at a total cost of $8 million. There are 278 buses in the regular fleet and 41 spare buses.
