September 22 to 30 Veg PEI will host Veg It Up PEI, a nine-day culinary challenge celebrating PEI’s harvest and showcasing the possibilities of gourmet, plant-based dining on Prince Edward Island.
Island chefs are being challenged to create a completely vegan dish to be sold at various restaurants and cafés across PEI. That means a delicious, nutritionally balanced plate—but with no meat, dairy, eggs, honey or any other animal products. And the emphasis is on the delicious.
Participating restaurants will be announced all month long on the Veg It Up PEI Facebook page. And then from September 22 to the 30, the public is encouraged to head out across the Island and taste what chefs can do. Choose your favourite dishes—and then go to the website and vote.
