Robbie Dover, Fresh Media, Paul Larsen, Chair of the PEI Hog Producers, Chef Paul Oulton and Steve Barber, Hunter's Ale HouseWhen it came to who served up the best PEI Pork Taco this October, Islanders voted Hunter’s Ale House the winner of PEI Porktoberfest 2017. This was the 6th edition of the PEI Porktoberfest campaign, a month-long celebration of PEI pork created by Fresh Media, and presented in partnership with Prince Edward Island Hog Producers, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Hometown Pork. Starting on October 13th, the campaign then switched to the traditional format focusing on restaurants. There were 18 Island restaurants serving up this year’s signature dish of PEI Pork Tacos. When the campaign ended, it was ‘Hunter’s Cornita’ from Hunter’s Ale House that had the highest combined rating of originality, flavour, and the overall tastiness of the pork. The winning ‘Hunter’s Cornita’ is expected to be added to the Hunter’s Ale House menu soon.
