Canada’s Smartest Kitchen at Holland College
Holland College’s food and beverage research and development centre, Canada’s Smartest Kitchen, will receive almost $50,000 to build its capacity in food product development from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
Canada’s Smartest Kitchen is one of 30 Technology Access Centers established by the council across Canada. The funding is being provided through NSERC’s College and Community Innovation Program, and will expand the capacity of CSK to work with local and regional businesses in the development of new beverages and the support their commercialization.
Canada’s Smartest Kitchen will use the funding to purchase a new two-phased homogenization system to allow for rapid stabilization of emulsions, leading to new, innovative beverages.
Canada’s Smartest Kitchen is co-located with The Culinary Institute of Canada in Holland College’s Tourism and Culinary Centre.
