T3 Transit celebrates 13 years

T3 Transit recently celebrated its 13th anniversary of service in Charlottetown, growing from 75 passenger fares on its first day to nearly 3,000 passenger fares on the same day, 13 years later. September marked transit’s biggest month ever with 62,964 passenger fares. There were 58,962 passenger fares in September 2018, up from 50,751 in September 2017.

Child care subsidy

The child-care subsidy provided by the PEI government is increasing. The private sitter rate is increasing from $20 to $30 a day for infants and $20 to $25 for children two years and older; the before and after-school child care half-day rate is increasing from $10 to $15 and the full day rate is increasing from $20 to $30; and the number of families who will receive full subsidy is increasing

The PEI Government has announced the opening of 358 new child-care spaces over the past six months. Seasonal spaces and extended hours have been offered in Montague, Souris and Tryon. Full and part-time spaces have been added in Belfast, Montague and Bloomfield, with more spaces expected to open soon in other rural communities.
