Canada 150 Residency and Concert Series Artist Selection and Schedule
The Dunk recently announced it will host Ebb & Flow: Connecting Canadians Along the Moving River, a residency and concert series. The project will bring together musicians, artists and the community to reflect and be inspired by The Dunk’s unique atmosphere and rich tradition of nurturing the arts the community.
A huge response was received for the Call to Artists. After sorting through applications from musicians from across the country, 6 artists have been selected with one or two more to be announced soon for the July 19–23 residency.
Here are the artists and the residency schedule so far:
August 16–20: Lindy Vopnfjörð and Ahkinoah H. Izarh (aka AHI)
September 13-17: Aaron Goldstein and Ambre McLean
October 18-22: Paul Reddick and Tanya Davis
Ebb & Flow will kick off on National Aboriginal Day, June 21, with a community potluck and traditional Mi’kmaq Blessing with performances from Hey Cuzzins Drum Group and musicians Dana Sipos, Owen Steel and Tian Wigmore/War Horses followed by a Solstice Bonfire. All events are free and open to the public. Details and updates will continue to be posted on the Ebb & Flow Facebook page. The Government of Canada, through the Canada 150 program, is providing $50,000 to fund this project.
