The PEI Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival will be held July 6–8 at the “Big Field” in Rollo Bay.

The Festival has re-established its popular band showcase. This showcase is open to bands that are up-and-coming, have never played at the festival before and are bona fide bands that have been together as a working unit for a reasonable length of time. In other words, no pickup bands need apply.

The showcase will be held on Friday morning of the festival beginning at approximately 9 am and will consist of a maximum of 5 bands. The sets will be of 30 minute duration including setup time. Voting will be done by the attendees of the festival by ballot.

The successful band will be given a set on Sunday afternoon, will be paid $500 and will get an opportunity to negotiate a contract for the 2019 festival. Each band member will receive admission to the festival for themselves and their significant other (only). The first 5 applications will be accepted. If less than 3 bands apply the showcase will not be held.
