Island musician Teresa Doyle has a new musical project on the go this summer, a Celtic trio called Backroads formed with her son Patrick Bunston and fiddler Ward MacDonald.
Teresa says, “All three of us grew up on the back roads of Prince Edward Island and have shared our music in these far flung places. We debuted Backroads at the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival on July 15.”
Teresa will be performing jazz with a five-piece band at the outdoor stage on Victoria Row in Charlottetown Tuesday evenings in early August.
You can also catch her on Sunday nights when she will be hosting concerts at Rock Barra Artist Retreat in north eastern PEI. Guests are: Finley Mullally and The River Thieves, August 5; Richard Wood and Gordon Belsher August 8; Young Folks concert with Katlin Doyle, Shallom Tarzan, Jonathan Gallant, Patrick Bunston, Dylan Tierney and others August 12; Backroads featuring Ward MacDonald, Teresa Doyle and Patrick Bunston August 19; and the finale on August 26 with Friends of Rock Barra Artist Retreat.
