Mike and Karen Penton are Soul FilterSoul Filter has released their debut single “Armor,” a rock-pop song about fear of love and vulnerability. It is available on Google Play, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon and others platforms.

Soul Filter is a new indie alt rock-pop band from Summerside featuring Karen and Mike Penton. The husband and wife duo have been performing together for 15 years in cover bands (Junkmale, Pretty Tragic) and as an acoustic duo. Their debut album, A Minor Conspiracy, is being recorded at BigDoz Recording Studio, Summerside. Their sound mixes acoustic rhythm and melodic electric guitar riffs and is inspired by artists such as Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, The Cranberries, Holly McNarland, The Tragically Hip, Sass Jordan & more. Instruments on “Armor” were recorded by Karen & Mike, except for drums which were recorded by Jay Riehl from Stratford, ON. “Like Water,” will be released in August.
