JJ Gerber (JonoJosh) releases “Anne-inspired” song and video

JonoJosh (aka JJ Gerber) has already made an impression in the music and musical theatre scene, and his latest single combines both of those passions.

JonoJosh currently plays Gilbert in The Charlottetown Festival’s production of Anne of Green Gables—The Musical™. During his free time, he performs with the band The Fly Crew with Dan Minchom, Glo Campanelli, Jozef Teeuwson, Jordan Zagerman, Ali Wither, Vannessa Sears, Aisha Jarvis, and Ruth Altaye.

JonoJosh’s latest release,“Waitin’,” is a song about waiting for a beautiful redhead to take notice and was written shortly after he got the role of Gilbert. The associated lyric video encapsulates how a modern-day Gilbert may have felt upon first meeting Anne.

JonoJosh has years of experience as a dancer-choreographer with Marianas Trench, Psy, Carly Rae Jepson, Kreesha Turner, and more. In 2016, he released his debut EP Outside. CBC and Kardinal Official called it “a master class of what R’n B should be.” The same year he went on to be a finalist in CBC’s Searchlight with the artist Andi and her song “Caffeine ft JonoJosh.” In 2017, JonoJosh and The Fly Crew released “Chance,” an art piece meant to inspire hope to its viewers.

The newly released “Waitin’” video can be viewed at youtu.be. You can also see JonoJosh for his take on Gilbert in Anne of Green Gables—The Musical™ in The Charlottetown Festival this summer until September 22. @jonojosh
