The Board of Directors of Small Halls Inc., the not for profit organization which produces the annual PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls, has announced that Josh Ellis has been selected as the new Executive Director and will begin his duties in September.
Ellis has been part of the Island business and entertainment community for many years; his role as frontman of ECMA-winning Grass Mountain Hobos.
Board Chair Chad Stretch notes, “Josh comes to us with a great deal of business education and experience, as a well as a fresh perspective and new ideas on where he can take our organization.”
Ellis says, “I am very excited to join this well-respected team and am looking forward to advancing the Small Halls mandate of bringing excellent entertainment and events to rural PEI.”
The PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls is a critically acclaimed Festival. In 2018, the festival was recognized by Music PEI as Event of the Year, and has been nominated by the East Coast Music Association for 2018 Event of the Year. The annual festival that was started in PEI 10 years ago has influenced the creation of other Festival of Small Halls in Ontario, Australia, and the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
