Credit Unions of PEI returns as sponsor for events in January

Music PEI has announced the return of the Credit Unions of PEI as the title sponsor for the 18th Music PEI Week and Music PEI Awards. The dates of Credit Union Music PEI week are January 23 to the 27, 2019.

The Credit Union has been a long-time supporter of Music PEI, providing critical support for various events. Doug Bridges, Marketing & Communications Officer, said, “The Credit Union is once again honoured to be able to support the amazingly deep pool of talent, creativity and dedication of our Island’s music community.”

Credit Union Music PEI Week will once again present a combination of concerts and performances during the week at multiple venues that will include popular shows like the Songwriter of the Year Nominee Concert, Country Jubilee, Music Mosaic and the Festival Finale.

Music PEI Week provides an opportunity each year for the Island to celebrate our best artists and industry professionals. Aside from the expected awards for awards like Songwriter of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, all the various genre awards, there are also awards for Venue of the Year, Event, New Artist, Touring Artist, Lifetime Achievement and more. Music PEI Week is also supported by The Province Of PEI, ACOA and FACTOR (through the Government of Canada & Canada’s private radio broadcasters).

Funding for Music PEI

Through its Business Development Program, ACOA is providing a non-repayable contribution of $108,060 to support Music PEI’s diverse activities over the current year. The Government of PEI is also contributing $229,000 through Innovation PEI. This membership-driven industry organization provides support for business and marketing plan development; contractual and legal agreements; marketing activities; market development, including tour and showcase support; professional development; and, export development. Music PEI programs include the Provincial Investment Program, the New Business Growth Program, the Golden Ticket Program, two annual conferences, and facilitated participation in international showcases.
