Island band Dunromin has recorded its second album entitled Memories. They launch the CD at the Linkletter Community Centre on June 14 at 2 pm. This spacious renovated building is located at 1670 Route 11, on the Linkletter Road just west of Summerside.
Dunromin consists of Harold Noye and Vans Bryant who sing “brothers songs” such as those recorded by the Louvin Brothers and Jim and Jesse. Marnie Noye plays stand-up bass for the group. Harold sings the lead voice and plays mandolin while Vans sings harmony and plays guitar.
Harold and Vans have performed together for many years with numerous performances at community event sand bluegrass festivals. They were regular performers at the Sun ’n’ Shade Campground when it was owned by the Noye Family.
In 2002 Dunromin released a recording entitled Making Plans. After a break, Harold and Vans reunited and are once again singing the old-time sound of two part male voices with instrumentation primarily on guitar, mandolin and bass. Harold and Vans play several instruments enabling them to provide variety in performances.
Dunromin named their second CD Memories as the numbers in the CD include old favourites and several selections about memories. These seasoned musicians say that they have many memories of the music they love and of times performing for appreciative audiences.
Memories, produced, arranged, engineered, mixed and mastered by Serge Bernard, Diamond Productions, was released in May 2015.
