Ireland meets Scotland
Celtic concerts at Beaconsfield and Orwell Corner

Ireland Meets Scotland returns for 2018. This high-caliber celebration of Celtic heritage, music and dance will be performed at two historic venues: Tuesday evenings to August 28 at Beaconsfield Historic House in Charlottetown, and Friday evenings to August 31 at Orwell Corner Historic Village in Orwell. All shows begin at 7:30 pm.

Backroads trio

Island musician Teresa Doyle has a new musical project on the go this summer, a Celtic trio called Backroads formed with her son Patrick Bunston and fiddler Ward MacDonald.

Teresa says, “All three of us grew up on the back roads of Prince Edward Island and have shared our music in these far flung places. We debuted Backroads at the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival on July 15.”

PEI composer F. Jane Naylor has recently won the first Lirit New Compostion Award. This significant new award, supported by the Judy Dan Fund for Arts and Education, will be given annually by the Lirit Women's Chamber Choir to a Canadian composer for an unpublished work for women's voices.
