PEI animator Laura Stewart’s most recent animated film, Blobby, has been selected to be a part of Air Canada’s enRoute Film Festival. Blobby is a short stop motion animation about an old man who is followed around his home by a blob as he goes about his daily life. As a part of the festival, Blobby will be broadcast on AirCanada’s in-flight entertainment systems for the month of Nov, and take part in a number of public screenings around Canada. From now until Nov, Blobby is also viewable on the enRoute festival’s website, where you can vote for it daily for a chance to win the People’s Choice Award. Blobby will also be screening at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival, both held this Sept. Laura, a recent graduate of Concordia University’s animation program, currently lives in Montreal where she builds and animates tiny worlds.
