James O’Halloran releases video game from Mighty Pebble Games

Mighty Pebble Games, owned by James O’Halloran, has released the first trailer for a new one-man independent video game studio in Charlottetown.

Miner Meltdown is a 2d team-based competitive multiplayer game. You, the player, are a miner in an underground mine scouring for minerals. As you and your teammates collect minerals, you are able to purchase better equipment and upgrades to ultimately kill the opposing team, all the while avoiding traps, monsters, and environmental pitfalls along the way. Each match takes place in a randomly generated map, in which the terrain is 100% destructible, therefore every match is different from the last.

Matches are short, and the gameplay is fast paced. The game features multiple gadgets such as jetpacks, rope, and grappling hooks, to quickly maneuver around the map with ease. Miner Meltdown also offers lots of weapon variety with over 20 different weapons to choose from. The visual style of the game is old-school pixel-art graphics mixed with dynamic lighting.

Miner Meltdown is currently on Steam Greenlight, and is seeking to release on Steam with enough votes from the community. The game is targeting a 2016 release, and will initially release on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. www.mightypebble.comwww.steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=532148234
