Island Media Arts Festival 2013 Launches

2013 marks the fourth year of The Island Media Arts Festival—what organizers say is the largest and most popular celebration of local and Atlantic-region films, videos, documentaries, animation and music videos on the Island. The festival is organized by IMAC—The Island Media Arts Cooperative—an association of media artists founded in 1978.

Wyatt Heritage Properties Inc. and Culture Summerside have joined forces to create radio dramas that bring local history alive. Videos by Cassie Doiron of Gulf Shore Consolidated and Sydney Rennie of Alberton Elementary have been selected as finalists in a national competition sponsored by Canada’s History Society. At the 2012 Provincial Heritage Fair 12 finalists were selected to create videos based on their project themes.
