ACT (a community theatre) is auditioning for their next production, The Shop Around the Corner. It is adapted from the Jimmy Stewart movie of the same name and serves as the inspiration for You’ve Got Mail.

Set in Hungary in the midst of the Great Depression, the shop workers at Matuschek and Company are a haven of humour against a backdrop of encroaching hardships. It is directed by Marieve MacGregor and produced by Grace Kimpinski.

Rehearsals will begin late-August with performances at The Guild in Charlottetown in November. Needed are 5 men of ages 18-65; one woman aged 25-35; 1 woman aged 25-50, 5 minor roles with speaking parts for both women and men, 8-10 extras, preferably with some dance experience.
