The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada will continue its Highland Dance program this fall and has been successful in attracting Daniel Carr a well-known World Champion instructor in the art of the dance. Daniel has had a successful run at live award winning performances and has now turned his full attention to teaching students at any level.
Daniel was taught by Sheila Milne whose daughter Ann used to teach at the College of Piping. Daniel has adopted her motto “having fun at a higher level” which simply means he encourages students to work hard and to enjoy the success that comes with it. From early teachings Daniel learned to create choreographies and earned a reputation of having stories added to routines that made the dance more fun and interesting.
Daniel will also teach Highland Dance in Charlottetown at least one evening per week, as part of the College’s recent joint collaboration with Holland College, while the remaining classes will be in Summerside.
Daniel is no stranger to the world of Celtic music and dance as he is also an accomplished bagpiper.
