The St. Peters Courthouse Theatre in beautiful St. Peters Bay welcomes new Artistic Director Stephanie Sampson. She is no stranger as she has been with the Theatre for almost 10 years doing everything from customer service to technical engineer. She has worked for Jonah Anderson on The Dot and Ada Series of Plays, Murder Inn, Prayers and Prohibition, Christmas Mayhem and Christmas In Killarney. She has also worked as a Stage Manager at Harbourfront Theatre with the Atlantic Academy of Performing Arts under the direction of Sherri-Lee Pike.
Summer programming includes Dot and Ada Plan a Wedding theatre production, and The Frank Ledwell Storytelling Festival. The Theatre will also offer an “escape” experience for groups.
Dot and Ada Plan a Wedding is the newest adventure in the series of plays written by Islander Jonah Anderson, and (spoiler alert) the laughs will be plentiful. It’s getting close to Dot’s granddaughter’s wedding day. Excitement is in the air and it’s time for Dot and Ada to meet the wedding planner. When they find out how strange and absurd he really is they decide to relieve him of his duties. The only problem is, the wedding is two days away and now needs a new planner. Dot and Ada save the day as they step into the position with gusto. The show plays Thursdays starting July 12 for all ages with curtain time at 8 pm.
Want to take part in a group team building activity or just have a lot of fun with friends? Come see if you can Escape the Courthouse. It’s after hours and the Courthouse custodian has locked the theatre down for the night. Unfortunately, he’s locked you within it. To make matters worse, he’s designed an elaborate game that you have to solve to get out. Tell me, can you and your group Escape the Courthouse or will you be left spending the night? A maximum group size of 10 participants can participate in this escape experience.
