Storytelling course for children with instructor Lara Bober
Confederation Centre’s arts education program is offering a new course called Visual storytelling and life writing on October 11.
This course is for children ages 11 to 14 and will explore the art of storytelling through words and drawing, with a focus on personal stories. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a number of skills including creative writing, watercolour painting, drawing with pastels, bookmaking and calligraphy techniques. Class will run for 10 weeks on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm.
The course will be instructed by Lara Bober, who has taught children’s literature at UPEI and holds a PhD in Educational Studies from McGill. She has worked with children in different settings including the Canadian Children's Museum, Early Childhood Education Centres, the English Montreal School Board, and the Ottawa School of Art. Ms. Babor has taught a similar course at the Ottawa School of Art, and is excited to share this program with Island students.
