The PEI Writers’ Guild (PEIWG) has elected its 2018–2019 Board of Directors.
President Keith Burgoyne stepped down and is taking on the role of Past President. Local author and entrepreneur Mo Duffy Cobb was elected as the new President. Bruce McCallum and Cindy Midgley will continue in their roles as Vice President and Treasurer, respectfully. New member Sophia Ball will resume the role of Secretary.
Members At Large voted in include: Christine Gordon Manley (new), Julie Pellisier Lush (new), Richard Furlong (staying on), Gillian Mahen (new), Katie Mac (new), Nicole Lewis Kemp (new), and Kelise Danielle MacDonald (new).
The Board thanked outgoing members Lorraine Clements, Kathy Birt, and Brad Bernard for their dedication and hard work.
The Guild facilitates writing workshops throughout the year, as well as the open mic nights at Receiver Coffee and other professional development opportunities for local writers.
There are approx 175 members of the PEI Writers’ Guild, and the Board invites anyone with an interest in writing to consider becoming a member. Members get a discount on workshops and a chance to participate in planning writing events for PEI.
