Photographer Alex Murchison has released his second book. Big Skies Prince Edward Island is a 36 page hardcover book showcasing a collection of landscape images, primarily from Queens and Kings Counties.
Rising high over valleys, the shoreline or the rolling hills, big skies are a major part of the PEI landscape. While many focus on the scene directly in front of them, Alex includes the Island sky as a key element in many of his images. Big Skies is self published by Alex Murchison.
Born in Charlottetown, Alex Murchison has been pursuing photography since the late 1970s when he completed the Photography Program at Holland College. While landscapes were always a first love, Alex made his living in commercial, editorial photography and teaching. Having worked with many print publications over the years, Alex has recently combined both landscapes and print in several self-published projects.
Alex will launch Big Skies at Holland College Library in Charlottetown September 27 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The evening will include book sale, slide show, and snacks. For a short preview of the book or to order, contact Alex at www.alexmurchison.com.
