My Grammie Is A Star - Darlene Holt/Dale McNevin

My Grammie is a Star was written by Darlene Holt, a PEI Hospice volunteer, and illustrated by Dale McNevin, a professional artist and illustrator.

The star story was handed down to Holt by her mother and grandmother as a way to help her to cope with the many losses she experienced as a child coming from a large extended family. The book is intended to be a resource for a parent to use to comfort a young child who has just recently lost a loved one.

The first publication costs for this book have been graciously donated by The Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem. All monies raised from the sale of this book will be directed to the Hospice Palliative Care Association of PEI.

Copies of My Grammie is a Star are available from the Hospice Palliative Care Association of PEI, 5 Brighton Road, Charlottetown, PE, C1A 8T6 or by calling the Hospice office at 368-4498

Hospice Palliative Care Assoc. of PEI also has a Perpetual Calendar available for sale. Illustrations on this calendar are reproductions of works of art by Island artists Joan Savage, Henry Purdy, David Campbell, Julia Purcell, Sylvia Ridgway, Gail Somers and Barry Jeeves. Calendars may be purchased from the Hospice Office and by contacting your local Hospice Coordinator.
