I was born and raised on PEI, and found myself as a teenager and young adult working in the Anne business. I’m a huge fan of the musical. And yet somehow, I’ve never read it; what’s more, I can’t even figure out how I managed to avoid reading it.

Grace Kimpinski has produced or co-produced a theatre show every few months for almost five years—but this year, she’s preparing for ten shows in four days. As of the day we met, she had no idea which plays or where they’d be staged.

Blooming House women’s shelter

The provincial government is partnering with community organization, Blooming House, to open a women’s shelter in the Charlottetown as a winter pilot project. Blooming Housing will receive $60,000 from the Province to hire the staff needed and get this project up and running to help Island women in urgent need of this service. A Glimpse of Noella, multi-media art by Noella Moore, is on display at MacNaught History Centre and Archives in Summerside through March.

Noella Moore is a multi-media artist who began drawing as a small child. By the age of sixteen she had created her first oil painting, which through adult eyes she still describes as “gorgeous.” 


Music PEI Awards

On January 27th, many of Prince Edward Island’s music community gathered at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel to learn who would take home the 2019 Music PEI Awards at the Awards Party.

Hosted by Tara MacLean, the awards were presented by sponsors, funders, Music PEI Board members and special guests. The artist with the most trips to the podium was Vishtèn. They took home Francophone Artist, Group
