The Story
In what has become a summer tradition on P.E.I. popular homegrown comedian Patrick Ledwell and singer–songwriter Mark Haines have once again pooled their creative talents to create The Island Summer Review, a highly entertaining evening of stories and songs deeply rooted in the red soil of Canada’s smallest province. This season Ledwell and Haines share astute observations and musical moments about P.E.I.’s place in Canada and how others see us, the joys of an Island winter, older folks and technology, the making of home brew, getting to and getting off the Island and what passes for news these days.

The Performance
Ledwell’s comedy, fuelled by a very keen sense of observation about the people who populate our little world and Haines’ music, aided and abetted by Ledwell who adds trumpet, guitar and percussion to Haines' guitar, fiddle and banjo, makes for a delightful night out. Great chemistry between these two.

A very funny bit about P.E.I. literally being left off several important maps, Haines’ version of "Into The Mystic" and a touching tribute by Ledwell to his grandfather and all Canadian veterans of the historic World War I battle for Vimy Ridge in which Canada is said by many historians to have come into its own as a nation.

—Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays to September 8 at Harmony House Theatre, Hunter River. Tickets/info at
