September is Arthritis Awareness Month and this fall the Arthritis Society will offer free education programs across PEI for Islanders living with arthritis and their loved ones.
A 6-week Steps with Seniors program begins in Stratford October 4 at 1 pm. This program will combine physical activity and education for Islanders living with arthritis. Each program will meet twice a week.
The Society is partnering with Sobeys Dietitians to offer a new 6-week Healthy Eating with Arthritis program in conjunction with the new Steps with Seniors walking program in Summerside starting September 18 at 1 pm. Join Sobeys’ Dietitian twice a week to learn how healthy eating can help you feel better and manage your weight.
Making ‘Rheum’ for Arthritis: Topics include physiotherapy and arthritis (October 17, 1 pm), and chair yoga (November 21, 1 pm).
A public forum will be held October 4 at Rodd Charlottetown at 6:30 pm about services available for Islanders living with arthritis, legal rights to living with a chronic illness and changes that arthritis patients can make to self-manage their disease.
