Island A CappellaIsland A Cappella, PEI’s only female chorus singing four part-harmony in the barbershop style, is hosting 3 open rehearsals as a part of a membership drive this September.

Women singers interested in learning more about this performing and competing chorus are invited to attend these no-obligation rehearsals at the Lecture Hall in the Charlottetown Rural High School from 6:45–9:00 pm on each Thursday, September 13, 20 and 27.

“Our guests will be welcomed, matched with a volunteer ‘Barbershop Buddy’ from our chorus, provided with a binder of our current musical repertoire in exchange for a $20 deposit and will join us on the risers to jump right in and start learning just how much fun this rewarding hobby can be,” says Chorus Director Carolyn Prime. “There’s no need to read music, although that is certainly an asset. Any woman who would like to give it a try is welcome, and we’re hoping after attending three of these open rehearsals, they’ll consider staying on and auditioning to become a full-fledged member of our dedicated and fun-loving chorus.”

The chorus is a chapter of Harmony, Inc. a non-profit organization with members across North America. Its members range in age from millennials to seniors who perform and compete in venues on and off PEI each year. Info: This email address is being protected from spambots.
