The Shaw family was one of the original settlers in Stanhope having arrived on the Falmouth in 1770. They have continuously farmed there since 1773 when Neil Shaw was granted 150 acres on the Bayshore Road.
Fast forward to today and the farm is the oldest family farm on PEI and is being operated by 8th generation descendants of Neil Shaw.
Come and hear how farming has changed over the centuries and how the family has impacted life in Stanhope and beyond. This meeting of the Stanhope Historical Society takes place at Stanhope Place, 2784 Bayshore Rd, Stanhope, October 22 at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.
