Open House: Seniors Active Living Centre

The Seniors Active Living Centre is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The Centre started in 1993 to provide adults 50+ with social, recreational and educational activities to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Originally located in the Oak Tree Mall, the Centre moved to the Bell Aliant Centre in 2004. The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9 am–4 pm.

Programs and activities offered include: auction, bingo, book club, bridge, bridge, choir (Oak Tree singers), crib, euchre, exercise class, knitting, mah jong, poker, and scrabble. There are Brown Bag Lunches and presentations on topics of interest to seniors, ceilidhs, potluck dinners, fashion shows, yard and bake sales, summer day trips to locations around the Island and other activities.

Anniversary Celebrations will take place June 10 to 15. A Sunday Ceilidh (Colleen MacPhee, Judy Lowe, Brian Knox and friends) will start the week and a summer potluck party will end the week. Everyone is invited to attend the Open House on June 14 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.
