Kidney Foundation of Canada free nutrition sessions

The Kidney Foundation of Canada, in partnership with United Way of Prince Edward Island, and Telus Atlantic Canada Community Board, is hosting free public nutrition sessions across the Island.

"What's on your plate? Healthy Eating 101" public nutrition classes will be held from 6:30–8:00 pm with Registered Dietitian/Dietician Consultant, Heather McIver on: June 14 in Souris at Harbourview Training Centre, 30 Church Avenue; June 20 in Charlottetown at Murchison Centre, Blue Room, 17 St Pius X Avenue; June 21 in Summerside at Credit Union Place, Room 2; and June 28 in O'Leary at Mill River Resort, Pendergast Room, 180 Bloomfield Road.

The sessions will provide healthy tips for every family member by learning to make small dietary changes, read labels, modify recipes and more. Nutritional advice will be available for those with diabetes and high blood pressure — both leading causes of kidney disease. There will also be a draw for a $150 grocery card as well as recipes and resources to take home. The sessions are family-friendly, all ages welcome. Space is limited.
