Souris Show Hall
Thursday, August 09, 2018
The Souris Show Hall has programming on stage through August. The venue is located at 5 Church Street, Souris.
A songwriters circle on August 9 will feature Al Tuck, Kenzie Whalen and Dave MacKay. Al Tuck began writing songs at age 18. His work led Tuck to a recording deal with Murderecords and a nomination for an ECMA and an appearance at Lollapalooza. December 2016 saw the release of a tribute album, featuring 15 of Tuck’s songs, performed by 15 of his musical friends.
Kenzie Whalen is a young singer-songwriter from PEI, who performed at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in the summer 2015. Her latest accomplishment is being one of five emerging PEI artists chosen to be an opening act for the Island leg of Ryan Cook’s Rural Routes tour.
Singer-songwriter David MacKay is inspired by his work and travels, over the past four years, in the rural areas of Haiti and the Ukraine, where he co-ordinated agricultural development projects. His music and writing is a mix of genres—country folk, blues and rock.
